Looking really tired and old at 19…

Posted by v on April 5, 2008

Okay, I admit, I was watching “Pussycat Dolls - Girlicious”. What a bunch of deliciously slutty girls ” Vicarious Living “not like the Americas Next Top model girls whose mission life is to follow the leader - Tyra Banks. Unlike ANTM , these girls are encouraged to slap on the makeup “the war paint” and the results are frightening at best.  It struck me that these girls are relatively young and look downright exhausted and old when the makeup is removed. It left me thinking “What hope is there for the rest of us when 19 year olds can and do look so haggard?.

American women work an average of 290 more hours per year than they did 30 years ago. That adds up to 7 weeks a year. And not only are we logging more hours at the office, but the work at home hasn’t really eased up, either. A study conducted by the Family and Work Institute found that a working woman, even if she has a partner, still does 87% of the shopping, 81% of the cooking, 78% of the cleaning, and 63% of the bill paying.

For those of you lucky ladies who have babies, read what Lipsticklife has to say. Very valuable tips in that blog. I know the “Girlicious” girls are working really hard but for the rest of us, we don’t need this hard work to show up on our faces. The only place we need the hard work to show, is in our choice of handbags, shoes, jewelry, clothing, accessories, house and car.

I found this product that truly does work miracles and if you know of any other great ones out there, let us know. Do buy and tell!

I can make you thin…

Posted by v on April 5, 2008

Okay, I admit it, I am vain, not shallow but vain. There is a difference. I worry about the day I will not find anything big enough to fit me in regular stores. I look at some pieces of clothing and they look so huge and I think What if that actually fits?. Theres nothing that sends me so fast out of a store when that thought strikes or I move to the accessories section. A lot more comforting.

However I dont like diets, I truly believe they dont work. I think the way to lose weight is to literally close your mouth. Sorry! but I also think one should eat healthy and exercise but that you should eat exactly what you want and not what you think you should eat. Hmmmmm! Popcorn! but I digress.

Now, to the hit sensation of TLC - Paul McKennas “I can make you thin” literally follows what I have always thought but could never truly put into action. He outlines the 4 golden rules which include “Eat consciously,Eat only when you are hungry. etc.” No gimmicks, which means he does not advocate - The South Beach diet, No carbs diet, No Sugar etc etc.

McKenna has six million customers worldwide and his UK version of I Can Make You Thin, which aired last year, was the most-watched show in the history of Sky Television.

I’d like to think I now have something in common with Mr. McKenna, I like he now know that diets cannot make you thin, only you can make you thin! :).  I will let you know how successful I have been at doing this.

Catch the show and give us your opinion on TLC SUNDAYS 9/8 CENTRAL
