Congratulations to JayZ and Beyonce. The pair are reported to have been married last weekend. My claim to fame is that my son was at the last concert. The supposedly amazing concert in which my girl diva Mary J.Blige also performed. He had awful seats but did not care as long as he got to hear JayZ perform. I think now, that Ms. Blige may actually be able to sing. You have always been an amazing entertainer but the singing …not too sure. Now, I dont care, you are fantastic.
Back to the newly married couple, I am curious to see what their offspring will look like. Its not a given like Brangelina or the Berrys. Will Beyonce’s beauty overide Jay Z’s less beauty? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Is it me or is there suddenly a feeling of it being crowded at the top. The designers are hellishly scrambling for the dollars of the few consumers that can afford their products. I told you! - the next designer to jump on the Eco fashion thing is Banana Republic and they actually have the gall to sound like they invented it.
Its new Green Collection is made with sustainable materials such as organic cotton, soy silk and bamboo — and spandex. A halter dress, for example, has braided hemp straps, but it also has bra-like pads sewn into the bodice made of foam rubber. A knit tank top is made from a fabric that’s just 5% soy silk. That’s diet green, at best.
Maybe all eco clothing should have to list their igredients, much like food in the supermarket. I am also told that the line is 40% higher than the prices of their regular line.
““I grew up in Rome, the land of the tiny refrigerator and the even smaller closet,” says Alessandra Brunialti, vice president of women’s design at Banana Republic. “We only bought what we needed and always ate locally sourced food. That way of life has stayed with me.” Although Brunialti lives a low impact lifestyle both in New York City and her home in the Hamptons, the biggest gift she’ll give the planet is the work she’s done on Banana Republic’s new eco-capsule collection, hitting stores tomorrow. The 50-piece line incorporates bamboo, organic Turkish cotton and linen, and soy-silk blends into clean-cut basics. The collection doesn’t look much different from the rest of Banana Republic’s modern staples, which is exactly the point. “We want our normal customers to be the ones buying our green items, so they look to the design first and then realize it’s green after the fact,” Brunialti says. In addition to the eco pieces (which will become a part of each standard collection), the company has made a commitment to recycled packaging and energy-conserving light bulbs in its stores.”
Yeah!!!! and by the way, look for their new Monogram units in their stores. They probably came up with that idea too.

Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. label is adding high-end handbags to its roster. Like it or not, you have to hand her her props. When she started with her Harajuku label a few years back, I was very hesitant.
Widely recognized for her eclectic personal style and natural elegance, Gwen Stefani created L.A.M.B. clothing , an acronym for Love Angel Music Baby, out of her love of design. “I just wanted to make clothes I would really want and things that would represent me “. The clothing line was launched in 2003 and based on the success of the line it was only natural to add L.A.M.B. shoes and L.A.M.B. watches. Gwen Stefani, the Grammy winning musician, actress and style icon, serves as Creative Director for L.A.M.B. and oversees every stitch and intricate detail of the products, working closely with the Royal Elastics design team.
L.A.M.B has been consistent, gorgeous, well made, fashionable, stylish .
Everything I think a fashion line should be.
The four-year-old firm, whose accessories are produced in partnership with Schifter + Partners, has launched a Black Label line called Aston, hitting stores this fall.

Please forgive me if I am wrong but do you know two people that the above items look good on? If you are young, tall, tan, thin and live in countries that begin with the letter “B” as in Belize, Bahamas, Barcelona, Brazil, Bermuda (okay you catch my drift) - Perhaps!
Never has fashion felt and looked so very wrong and confusing.
The fashion this season seems to be eagerly directed towards “How to look old or confused”
Maxi dresses look eerily similar to mumus, (its not a surprise that Tori Spelling is pregnant and wearing a maxi dress) Both ladies are probably thinking “I hope my stylist was right”.
Sequins look like you stayed out all night (in Vegas!),
Jumpsuits, forget it unless you have a camels’ bladder. Never mind what you do with the top half when you do decide to use the bathroom. You surely wont leave it on the floor but you could tie it around your ankles or calves.
Jumpsuits may actually work if you are tall and reed thin but beware if you are short and curvy, you only resemble a poorly wrapped package.
Retro is great if you are not retro, as in maybe if you are 18ish to 20ish not 40ish.
This is why I like handbags and accessories, the designers don’t make you go round in dizzying circles. They know you either like them or you dont! Simple.
I can’t but imagine some little children in China, the Dominican, Mexico or Guatemala working as fast their little hands allow while some neurotic designer is yelling at the floor supervisor over the phone- No! no! no! Its Florals now! We wanted jumpsuits yesterday!!!!
Suddenly you start to yearn for animal prints, and I am sure those will be back soon. As soon as the designers completely run out of creative juices, OMG
animal prints are back! Wait and see, you heard it here first.
So here’s what I’m going to do. I am going to completely ignore them until fall or until they come to their senses.
Please write and tell us what your favorite “must have” items of the season are.
