For the uninitiates, Avril Lavigne enjoys near cult status and was voted Top 99 desirable women of 2008. (Check our entertainment section for details) Young Avril Lavigne literally came out of nowhere — nowhere being the town of Napanee, Ontario — and rose to the top of the charts with her single “Complicated.” Her first full-length album, Let Go, debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard charts in June 2002. Her next album Under My Skin debuted at No. 1 in more than 10 countries including the U.S. and Canada. Her third album, The Best Damn Thing, also debuted at No. 1 in the U.S.
Let it be said that Avril Lavigne is developing into a lovely young woman. Her smoldering lips, big blue eyes and pale skin make for an enticing package, one that will only get better with age. (courtesy:Ask men)
The rock rebel says she has finally discovered fashion and wants to star in “really beautiful” ads. Now we like her, her line of clothing is expected to debut in July 2008. I hope she pulls a Gwen Stafani and stuns us all. We’ll be keeping our eyes on you!

Pop star Madonna is expected to appear in court in Malawi this month for a ruling on whether she can adopt a child from the southern African country.
The case is “tentatively” scheduled for 22 to 25 April, a court clerk said. Earlier this month the Malawian government recommended that the 49-year-old star should be allowed to adopt David Banda, who is aged two.
Last year critics of Madonna alleged that she had used her celebrity status to “fast-track” the adoption and get around Malawian laws.
However, the star strenuously denied that this was the case.

Elle is said to have parted company with its fashion director and “Project Runway” star and author Nina Garcia sources said late Friday.
Neither Garcia, Elle editor in chief Robbie Myers nor a spokeswoman for Elle could be reached for comment.
On Tuesday, Elle hosted a dinner with Moschino to celebrate Simon Doonan’s new book, “Eccentric Glamour: Creating an Insanely More Fashionable You”, but Garcia was notably absent.
Speculation about Garcia’s departure has swirled for months, especially after the arrival of Joe Zee at the beginning of 2007 as creative director. Last spring, Garcia left the magazine on maternity leave, and began writing a monthly fashion column for Elle upon her return. Garcia was in the office on Friday morning, but by the afternoon, sources close to the building say Hachette’s Midtown offices were abuzz about the rumor.
The editor, who has already penned one book, “The Little Black Book of Style,” is a judge on the Bravo reality show “Project Runway”, which earlier this week switched to Lifetime Television under a more lucrative contract.
