Billed as the biggest technology Iaunch since Google. I admit, when I first read this, I thought , What? Does this not open a can of worms? I am no techie at all but what if there was a White search engine, Chinese search engine, Hispanic search engine, Gay search engines and so on. The internet would become more more messed up than it currently is. However, as Shakespeare also quite eloquently put it ” Cowards die many times before their death”. A misquotaion as a matter of fact, the actual quote is “ Every houre he dyes, which ever feares.”
However, I digress again but I decide to read on and relax. It already is and there’s not a darn thing I can do about it. Go to www.rushmoredrive.com. Check it out.

Read on : Add ethnic sites to IAC/InterActiveCorp’s portfolio. The newest member of Barry Diller’s media conglomerate is a search engine named RushmoreDrive that targets U.S. blacks.
The project addresses an unmet need for a population that exceeds 50 million, half of whom are regular Internet users, says RushmoreDrive CEO Johnny C. Taylor, Jr. RushmoreDrive also leveraged IAC’s experience in Internet search. Taylor says colleagues at IAC/InterActiveCorp (nasdaq: IACI - news - people ) property Ask.com helped develop the concept and refine the search engine.
Of course, Internet giants including AOL, MSN and Yahoo! (nasdaq: YHOO - news - people ) are pursuing similar strategies. And parent IAC could get distracted by its plan to separate into five publicly traded companies. RushmoreDrive will be part of the new, smaller IAC, while larger, more mature businesses, including Ticketmaster and LendingTree, will be spun off. The revamped IAC will focus on media, advertising and entertainment. Along with RushmoreDrive, it is incubating several other niche Web services, including news, personal finance and virtual worlds sites.

As reported yesterday by WWD, Fred Leighton ( Ralph Esmerian), Jeweler to the stars filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy to halt the auction of his pieces.
Legendary jeweler Ralph O. Esmerian was scheduled to auction off $34 million worth of jewelry at Christie’s yesterday, including a $15 million pink-diamond ring and a $6 million brooch once owned by Napoleon III’s wife. But two minutes before the bidding was set to start, the roughly 45 people who showed up for it were told they’d have to take their money elsewhere since the auction was off. At 4:20 — less than two hours before the auction’s scheduled start time — Esmerian filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to prevent the sale of the jewels.
The rocks, you see, served as collateral for a loan issued by Merrill Lynch to Esmerian so he could acquire Fred Leighton, the company that blings out many a star on the red carpet and iced Catherine Zeta-Jones on her wedding day (fun fact: Esmerian tapped Martha Stewart’s once-jailed, former stockbroker Peter Bacanovic to be CEO). But now Esmerian owes Merrill Lynch more than $180 million, and according to the bank, he stopped making payments in September. Filing for Chapter 11 prevents creditors from collecting on their debt; in doing so yesterday, Esmerian bought himself some more time to start paying his overdue bills, whether or not he deserves it.
Merrill Lynch had been pushing in courts the past few days for the auction to proceed. When a judge ruled yesterday that the auction would go forward, Esmerian filed for Chapter 11 as a last-ditch attempt. Esmerian’s lawyer said it was something they wanted to avoid but needed to prevent an “out of control Wall Street investment bank from making a cash grab which will destroy a viable business.” Merrill Lynch is asking for the auction to go forward no later than tomorrow. Christie’s spent more than half a million dollars marketing the darn thing, so they want it to go forward, too, but in our humble opinion, it doesn’t sound like they’re being as pushy as the bank. Another hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. this morning. Will the auction go forward? Will the jewels fetch their worth? Will Peter Bacanovic get in trouble again? Stay tuned. (nymag)

Lets face it, menswear in womenswear will never go away. Keep the look fresh, crisp and feminine as shown in the Dior Fall 08 show.
The modern-day dandy look shows up this fall as cool girls turn to tailored, boyish styles. Vests are a staple, often with details like pleating to keep things feminine.

Here, Tiki Lewis, lead singer of the band Piel, sports Suh-Tahn’s silk bengaline version, worn with organic cotton and Lycra spandex shirt and Yoko Devereaux’s wool pants. Alpine Stars fedora; Sydney Evans bracelets.
Stylish girls have been borrowing from the boys since time immemorial, and fall’s slouchy, men’s wear-inspired vests and jackets fit perfectly into the androgynous vibe. Here, singer-songwriter Tiki Lewis of Piel wears the look, a departure from her skin-baring onstage style. (WWD)
