We know why. Its because they could not find any one, black or white to best represent the ideals of South Africa. So they found an American two bit actress. I am quite certain the editors of Elle Canada, US and wherever else would never dare to use a relatively unknown South African actress regardless of how talented she is and plunk her on those covers.Next time use a model regardless of what race she is. It is definitely more appropriate.

Chanel Iman on shooting Vogue Italia issue.
Posted by v on May 6, 2008

At the Met gala last night, Chanel Iman talked about shooting the all-black issue of Italian Vogue with Iman, Veronica Webb and her pal Jourdan Dunn. Though Dunn has been the rumored cover girl, nothing has yet been confirmed, and Chanel didn’t know who the lucky girl was either. “I’d be surprised [if I am],” she said. “If I did that would be amazing, but if I don’t, I’ll get it the next time.”
On if she thinks she’s a star??
Despite being Phillip Lim’s muse and getting hollered at like a Beckham, Chanel is very grounded. When we asked her if she felt famous yet, she replied, “No. I don’t know. I don’t really feel that way. When you ask me these kind of questions, it’s kind of strange because I don’t see myself like that.”(NYM)
Awwwww! Sweet girl. Isn’t she cute?

Lindsay Lohan steals co-eds’ fur coat
Posted by v on May 6, 2008
Someone has to take over from where Britney left off and Lohan seems to be getting off to a great start. Her parents have been in the news, mom is in a reality show, she is the poster girl for driving drunk. Now this, A Columbia co-ed wants to know how Lindsay Lohan ended up wearing her $11,000 blond mink coat - and is demanding the “Mean Girl” pay for the impromptu rental.
Lohan wearing stolen coat
The club was closed for a friend of jet-setting playboy Stavros Niarchos, Markova said. She added that at one point, she was seated next to Lohan, and recalled putting the mink in a common bin with other jackets.
It was gone when she prepared to leave 1Oak after an hour, Markova said. Two weeks later, Markova flipped through the Feb. 11 edition of OK! Magazine and couldn’t believe her eyes - Lohan was photographed the night of Jan. 26 wearing the very same fur coat. “I was actually talking on the phone to my grandmother about something else, and then I flipped through the magazine, saw the picture said, ‘I need to call you back,’ ” Markova told The Post yesterday.
“It was my coat. It was no doubt!” Also, celebrity blogs posted pictures of the actress party-hopping that night - wearing a black coat before she arrived at 1Oak, Markova said.
The coat was finally returned, reeking of booze and cigarettes with a small tear in the lining. Now, she wants Lohan to own up to stealng the coat and pay for damages and rental. (The Post) We are sure there is a reasonable explanation for this. Nice coat though! Yes, we know it is fur!

Iron Man - the Sequel already?
Posted by v on May 6, 2008
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Buoyed by the blockbuster success of “Iron Man” over the weekend, Marvel Studios on Monday announced plans for a string of superhero properties, including an “Iron Man” sequel set for April 2010.

“Iron Man 2″ will be followed in June 2010 by the big-screen adaptation of another of Marvel’s popular comic book characters, “Thor,” the mighty, hammer-wielding hero based on the Nordic god of the same name, the company said. “Captain America” and “The Avengers” are next in line for the summer of 2011. The nearly $99 million opening weekend of “Iron Man,” Marvel’s first fully self-financed production, gave Hollywood’s summer movie season a solid start and set the stage for a robust earnings report from the studio’s corporate parent, Marvel Entertainment Inc.
