Victoria Beckhams’ new look - Seventies chic

Posted by v on May 16, 2008

Victoria Beckham debuted her new Seventies inspired denim line at Harrods, London.

The Spice Girl looked stunning in a super-tight pair of flares from her new range and a statement black corset top.
It’s the third time in the last few days that Victoria has sported wide-legged jeans in favour of skinnies. She was recently snapped at the airport in a bright candy-coloured pink pair - and has declared flares the must-have fashion item of the season.

She says of the look: ‘Right now, my dVb signature style is definitely the 70’s skinny flare.  We have to admit, we like the look too. (Marie ClaireUK)

FASHION FRINGE FINALISTS ANNOUNCED

What is happening to Donatella’s face?

GO By a Secret Path, LF Markey, Sarah Easom and William Tempest will be among the most talked about designers at London Fashion Week next season – and more than one of them can hope to become a household fashion name straight afterwards.

The Fashion Fringe selection panel – chaired by Donatella Versace this year and also featuring Anne Pitcher (of Selfridges), Roland Mouret, Vogue’s Lucinda Chambers, NET-A-PORTER.COM’s Natalie Massenet and Jonathan Akeroyd from Alexander McQueen – put their heads together after interviewing 12 semi-finalists today.

“I was very excited to be here today as I saw a lot of talent,” said Versace. “Unfortunately, we had to choose four, but I feel that they have a great future ahead of them. I am very proud to be a part of Fashion Fringe.”

Fashion Fringe, founded in 2004 by fashion guru Colin McDowell – supported by IMG - to give new British fashion talent the limelight it deserves, has since made the careers of Sinha-Stanic (runner-up in 2004), Basso & Brooke (2004), Modernist (runner-up in 2005), Erdem (2005), Gavin Douglas (2006), and Aminaka Wilmont (2007).

The 2008 winner, who will be picked after all four finalists show their full spring/summer 2009 collection on the catwalk in September, will receive £100,000 in funding for their subsequent collection as well as constant mentoring and advice from some of the industry’s most respected figures ( VOGUE)
