‘The View” - Elizabeth Hasselbeck cries over the use of the “N” word.

Thursday morning on “The View,” during a discussion on the N-word prompted by the revelation that Jesse Jackson used the slur in his controversial Fox News tape, Whoopi Goldberg and Elisabeth Hasselbeck had a heated back-and-forth that ended with Elisabeth in tears.
As usual when I read about the issues on The View, I am lost and confused. What is there not to understand about Whoopis’ point and why is Elisabeth crying?. I don’t agree with Whoopi but the show is called the View. My view is that no-one needs to use diaparaging language on their race or any other race. It is wrong and the continued use of the word does not solve any issues.
If people don’t use the “N” word in public, they most certainly will use the word in private. Banning it from public usage will not change the fact that people who feel comfortable enough using the word will ever stop. Take Jesse ”Jackass” Jackson for example, after championing the ban on the word, he goes ahead and uses the word to disparage black people.
Bear in mind, that NOBODY, repeat NOBODY has seen or heard this FOX tape which Bill O’Reilly , a Fox host confirms. Is FOX just playing its own disgusting games and getting the whole world riled up for no good reason?
Go figure, this world is hypocritical and pretending everyone is nice and cuddly is not going to help. Dry your eyes, Elizabeth and deal with it. Even Charlie Sheen, called his white wife the “N” word. Last time we checked, she was white.
Elisabeth, there is racism in America. Whoopi then launched into a heated explanation of why black and white America still remain separate: “It isn’t balanced, and we would like it to be, but you have to understand, you have to listen to the fact that we’re telling you there are issues, there are huge problems that still affect us,” she said.
Elisabeth replied, in tears, “When we live in a world where pop culture then uses that term, and we’re trying to get to a place where we feel like we’re in the same place, where we feel like we’re in the same world…how are we supposed to then move forward if we keep using terms that bring back that pain?”
What pain did you ever experience over racism? Boo-hoo! Shut Up! Elizabeth. You can’t get Whoopi fired this time. Not like you did Rosie O’Donnell. Sometimes, you wonder if this is the Views attempt to gain ratings, everytime she cries or has a problem with someone, the ratings rise.
Tell it like it is, Whoopi! The show is called “the View”. Hopefully, Elisabeth Hasselbeck will cry for a very long time until nobody really cares anymore.

TO WHOOPie
I am a white man and I am not racists
And if whoppie Goldberg wants a segregated language; as she spoke about yesterday .. that only black people are allowed to use certain words.. then we all should be able to go back to segregation – seperate but equal – seprate but equal… this is what she really wants … To me she wants segregation and if she says its ok to segargate a language or words, the why stop there??? lets bring back segration.. we all should be able to do it
I may never vote for a black person now because of her …
I am not a racist – I am a white man … but if thats the way she wants it then so be it – I am following the lead of whoppie Goldberg and the Rev of god… Master Jackson and master Sharpton
You want polarized society well now you got it – I will start from this day on
Thanx for bringing me to lite

Whoppie was simply trying to get people to understand the frustrations of African American’s first…. with regard to racism…once we all have an understanding (Black and White) than a healing can begin. It’s like a doctor trying to understand a disease…once he understands what the patient has….he will have an idea how to treat it…. and still every patient will not have the same prescription. If the doctor has an incorrect diagnosis he will treat the problem incorrectly and may even make it worse. I do understand Elizabeth’s point as well…. and she’s right, we should all stop using the N… word…. but it’s not that simple when that word has taken on a light hearted meaning for some without any regard for its’ history, while for other’s it is still a fighting word and or an unconscious habit, that may or may not hurt. It’s a complex issue that depends on who you are and who you’re talking to. The good news is, “The View” as well as others are at the table talking about it…crying about it with views… and once again using an issue that’s directed toward Obama that has become an opportunity to begin to heal a horrible disease…a “cancer” called racism in our country….that still seperates us….and makes us feel like we’re in two different worlds unnecessarily. Seems to be the will of God that all of this is happening before Obama…..a man of peace…. is voted into the White House! And for God sake, don’t we all want peace? Let the healing continue.
