Carla Bruni, First lady of France appears on Letterman…
Did you miss Carla Bruni on David Letterman last night promoting her album Comme si de rien n’était? (It is as if nothing happened.) on David Letterman???. If you missed it, watch it here.
Charming, candid and refreshing but could you imagine Michelle Obama promoting her album or even singing in public?
Letterman is concerned he is going to make a terrible diplomatic mistake tonight; afraid he’ll create an international incident. He feels like he is driving without a license, claiming, “I shouldn’t be doing this!”
Just in case you wondered, she did not sing - at least not while on the show. That performance was immediately after the television show and broadcast live on CBS’s website.
Ms. Bruni told US viewers she hoped she was “good enough” in her role as France’s first lady on a late-night television show. She also pointed out that the CBS initials were the same as hers Carla Bruni Sarkozy.
Asked if her husband, who met with US President George W. Bush last weekend at a crisis summit of world leaders, got along well with his American counterpart, she offered: “They have to. No choice.”
