Hairbands… the hot new accessories, just when you thought they were done.

Just when you thought his trend was dying a slow death, it appears to be escalating.

Myself, as an avid wearer and lover of hair bands, pre-gossip girls, (but pay no attention to someone who still loves Milly Jackson) it is quite understable that Mrs. Hillary Clinton would like headbands.

She has long loved them, if you look back at her old White House photos. However, she did the hair band look quite a bit of injustice by looking like she was getting ready to wash her face at night.

The way things are going, this trend may escalate, or not as Mischa Barton also decides to put out a line of headbands in lieu of a successful acting career and so has Nicole Ritchie in lieu of …??? (for her House of Harlow line.) We’ll get back to ya!

Mischa Bartons headbands are available exclusively through stacylapidus.com.

Barton’s first accessories venture, Mischa Barton Handbags for the London-based company Ri2k, is now in its third season.

And the blond locks of British socialite, Williamsburg resident and Nylon magazine columnist Peaches Geldolf  (her full name is Peaches Honeyblossom Michelle Charlotte Angel Vanessa Geldof) are often pushed up into a crown-like bulge on top of her head created by her selection of vintage headbands.

“I wear headbands because I love the way hippie girls wore them in the ’60s,” Ms. Geldolf told the Daily Transom back in September. “I’ve been wearing them since I was 13 and saw an old photo of a hippie girl in Haight-Ashbury wearing one made of daisies.”
Some tips, if you care for head band wearing via Geldof :

Neverwear sports headbands or you look like an ’80s tennis player,” Ms. Geldof instructed. “To get a unique headband, go to fabric shops and make your own. The one I wore at New York Fashion Week was a vintage band from the ’20s.”

or check out favourites from Swarovski.com where they appropriately call them Hair Jewels.
